PDA’S FIRST WEBINAR A SUCCESS!

Date: 2009-09-14   Author: Polyurea.cn

Kansas City, MO: September 9, 2009 ?Polyurea Development Association (PDA) hosted its first educational webinar on September 8, 2009.The title of the presentation, 揂 Comparison of Polyurea, Polyurethane, Hybrid Polyurethane-Polyurea, and Epoxy Coatings and Sealants,?reflected the chemistry differences between polyurea, polyurethane, hybrid polyurethane-polyurea and epoxy systems.Dr. Jay A. Johnston, Senior Associate Scientist in the Coatings, Adhesives, and Specialties group at Bayer MaterialScience in Pittsburgh, PA, presented this webinar to over 35 attendees. The presentation provided the attendees with a better understanding of why the different coating types are used in a particular application and why they are used under different environmental conditions, and to also learn about the physical property advantages and disadvantages of each material.Key personnel from raw materials suppliers, equipment suppliers, formulators, consultants and contractors all took part in this educational opportunity provided by PDA.

This educational webinar is the first of many that the PDA plans to host.Although there is not a date set for the next educational webinar, PDA plans on hosting another one in the near future focusing on: Case histories and what you can do with slow reacting two-component polyureas that are UV stable.PDA invites anyone in the fields of raw materials suppliers, equipment suppliers, formulators, consultants, engineers, architects and contractors to attend these educational events.

PDA is an international trade association formed specifically to promote the awareness and education of pure polyurea technologies and their uses. Members include contractors, formulators, material suppliers, equipment manufacturers and specifiers who seek to expand the use of polyurea. PDA promotes continuing education through its educational programs, guidelines and standards.
