“2011 Fall Jobsite Polyurea Training Course (QTG)”Has Been Successfully Held

[Polyurea. cn 2011-11-23 News] “2011 Fall Jobsite Polyurea Training Course” has been held on 12th-15th November in Qingdao Technological University (QTECH). This course was sponsored by Research Institute of QTECH. We also got generous support from Albemarle Chemicals (Nanjing) Co., Ltd and Qingdao Shamu International Trade Co., Ltd. Recently construction industries have paid more attention to material’s fire resistance performance,according to the market demand of the fire resistant materials, we chose the Qtech-415 FLAME-RETARDED POLYUREA as the protective coating.

The courses were lasted for four days and were given in the jobsite, where trainees can share the experiences and lessons of Prof. Huang during his 20 years polyurea career. The courses made trainees realized the difficulty of the application and the importance of mastering spraying essentials. So that everyone had a profound comprehension of the scientific theory—“one point polyurea, nine points application”. Prof. Huang pointed out that “one point polyurea” refers to the pure polyurea, which is the material basis and is the fundamental of a successful polyurea project; “nine points application” refers to the complexity and specialty of polyurea application which are far higher than ordinary coatings, so that we should have professional training course and continue to practice and accumulate experiences.

How to distinguish pure polyurea from the fake ones has attracted widespread attention, which was explained by Prof. Huang by showing eight rapid identification methods: 1, appearance observing; 2, feel identification ; 3, the identification method based on the characteristic of hydrophobic amino and hydrophilic hydroxyl; 4, smell identification; 5, identification method on the basis of the different reacting situations with trace moisture; 6, identified by the reaction process and the gel state; 7, identification method with Qtech-111 pure/hybrid polyurea rapidly identifying system of reagent; 8, identification method by film forming of spray coating on the surface of water.

Throughout the training program, trainees has also visited the structural lab, structure research center for durability of concrete, the China Polyurea Talent Education Base, outdoor exposure field, artificial accelerated aging laboratory, freeze/thaw cycling laboratory, concrete carbonation laboratory and the showroom for pure and false polyurea in Qingdao Technological University.

In order to satisfy the enthusiast both domestic and overseas, whose desire were learning the professional techniques ofpure polyurea, Research Institute of Functional Materials are preparing for the "2012 Spring Jobsite Polyurea Training Course (QTG)", which is supposed to be held in April 13 to 16, 2012.
