The commercial application of polyurea in the United States began in 1991. Before the establishment of PDA in 2000, it has been successfully applied in building waterproof, landfill, pool decoration, pickup protection, sewage treatment and other fields. However, due to the lack of industry organizations and normative definitions of polyurea, the conflict between pure polyurea and semi polyurea in the market is becoming more and more serious. In order to better promote the vigorous development of SPUA technology in the United States and around the world, timely exchange information, standardize the market and realize resource sharing, the polyurea Development Association (PDA) was established in the southern city of New Orleans on November 30, 2000. The purpose of the association is to develop new marketing strategies and promote the growth of polyurea and polyurea Development Association; Create a professional platform for members to discuss polyurea issues; Establish relevant standards for polyurea products; Clarify the definition of polyurea; Technology and information exchange meetings, namely PDA annual meeting, are held regularly every year. So far, PDA has held 11 annual meetings.
Mr. Chris godinich of Huntsman company served as the first president of the association. Mr. Dudley J. primeaux, known as the "father of spray polyurea elastomer technology in the world", served as the second president and presided over the second and third PDA annual meetings respectively, which was a great success. Professor Huang Weiwei has served as the international director of the Association for three times, which has played a positive role in promoting China's polyurea technology in line with international standards.
